Conclave: Path to Sustainability 2026- Strategy and Implementation

Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur in association with TERRE Policy Centre, Pune successfully organized Conclave: Path to Sustainability 2026- Strategy and Implementation on February 2, 2026 to mark the celebration of International Wetlands Day. Dr. Rajendra Singh, renowned water conservationist popularly known as ‘Waterman of India’ graced the occasion as Chief Guest. His inspiring address emphasized community-led water management, ecological balance, and responsible citizenship.
Honourable President Prof. (Dr.) Prithvi Yadav highlighted the university’s commitment to sustainability-driven education, research, and community engagement and emphasized the importance of nurturing environmentally responsible citizens through interdisciplinary learning and innovation. 
The conclave also highlighted the MoUs for campus sustainability and Prerna 2.0 with United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), New Delhi; TERRE Policy Centre, Pune; Swaaha Resource Management, Indore; Ambuja Foundation, Udaipur Sarvhit Kalyan Seva Samiti, Meerut and WeNaturalists, Delhi.
The Prerna booklet that included the projects undertaken during the academic year 2025 was also launched and the community engagement project SPSU’s Prerna 2.0 was declared as well.
The conclave featured two impactful panel discussions. Panel Discussion I: “Wetlands in the SDG Framework: Educational Pathways for Sustainable Futures” examined the significance of wetlands in achieving SDGs and the role of education in fostering environmental awareness. Dr. Vinita Apte, Founder, Director-TERRE Policy Centre, Pune was the moderator. The panel included eminent experts such as  Mr. Ratnesh, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network, Ms. Karuna Singh, Regional Director, Asia-Earth Day Network, Dr. Sameer Sharma, CEO. Swaaha Resource Management, Mr. Rajesh Soni, Technical Head, JK Cement, Nimbahera, Mr. Brijesh Sharma, Environmental Head, JK Cement  and Mr. Ronak Shah, CEO Seva Mandir, Udaipur. They shared insights on policy, conservation practices, and community engagement.
Panel Discussion II focused on “Biodiversity Conservation: Challenges, Strategies, and Way Forward” addressing biodiversity loss, conservation strategies, and future directions for ecological resilience. Dr. Ram Boojh, Former Environmental Specialist UNESCO was the moderator. The distinguished panellists were Mr. Amit Banka, Founder & CEO, WeNaturalists, Mr. Chinmay Jain, Zonal Manager, Ambuja Foundation, Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Vats, Brand Ambassador, Mission Swachh Bharat, Founder SKSS, Mr. Ravi Govindraj, Regional Director, Nature Science Foundation, Mr. Sangeeta Patra, Senior Vice President, Skill Council for Green Jobs and Prof.(Dr.) Prithvi Yadav, President, SPSU.
A key highlight of Conclave 2026 was the Green Sparks Ideathon, where more than 100 students from 20 schools in and around Udaipur showcased innovative projects addressing sustainability challenges across domains such as renewable energy, waste management, water conservation, and climate action. The First Prize was won by Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Maharaj Ki Khedi, Second by The Study Sen. Sec. School, Udaipur and Third Prize by PM Shri Govt. School, Navania respectively.
 The Conclave was successfully coordinated by Dr. Tulika Chkrabarti, Dr. Prithvi Singh and Dr. Imran Anwar.
